I share with you Puran Poli Recipe. Maharashtrian puran poli which uses chana dal, the gujrati version makes use of toovar dal. I love Puran Poli very much but never tried. This recipe is absolutely new recipe for me. I appreciate for your wonderful presentation. Puran Poli Seem exceptionally delicious in eating. Its unique flavour and characteristic aroma can be attributed to the special Indian spices used. Puran Poli make in tovar dal, sugar, nutmeg powder, cardamom powder, wheat flour. PuranPoli taste by sweet. Sweet dish everyone favourite. PuranPoli is very soft. So let’s see how to make PuranPoli.
For The Filling:-
- 2 cups Toovar dal (Arhal dal)
- 2 cups Sugar (Chini)
- ½ tsp Nutmeg powder (Jaiphal powder)
- 1tsp Cardamom powder (Elaichi powder)
- ¼ cup Ghee
For The Dough:-
- 4 cups Wheat flour (Gehun ka atta)
- 2 tbsp Oil (Tel)
For Dough :-
Combine the flour and oil in a bowl. Knead to dough with Water. Apply a little Water on top, cover and keep aside for the 5 to 10 minutes. After 10 minutes apply a little ghee on your hands and knead dough till smooth and divide the dough into equal size.
For The Filling:-
Wash the dal. Take a pressure cooker. Put Toovar dal in a pressure cooker with water, cover and cook for 1 to 2 whistle. Drain any excess water. Heat a pan, add ghee in hot pan. Add boiled toovar dal, sugar and cook for thick mixture, stirring continuously. Now add Nutmeg powder, Cardamom powder and mix well. Cooland keep a side.
Making Proceed :-
Roll in dry flour and make a 7o mm diameter circle with a rolling pin. Now put the filling in the centre of the rolled and fold the edges of dough over the filling. Bring together all the sides in the centre and seal tightly. Apply some wheat flour on this stuffed dough and roll the stuffed dough with a rolling pin. Heat a tava. The Puran Poli put in a tava, apply a little ghee top on the Puran Poli. Apply a little ghee on both and cook over a medium flame till it turns golden brown in colour on both sides. Same way prepared all Puran Poli. So prepare your Puran Poli. Transfer to a serving plate and serve with any hot sabji.
