I share with you Chanadal Biriyani recipe. This flavourful chana dal biriyani is filling for a meal and rich in protein and fiber. This biriyani made with spicy, chanadal and rice. It is a good and flavorful combination of lentil. This is a very simple and easy recipe. Chanadal Biriyani is very delicious in eating. Chanadal Biriyani is my sun’s favorite. I like very much. Rice and spices the preparation is most like biriyani. This is going to be my keeper for biriyani so I measured everything accurate and here goes the recipe from my kitchen. I eat with Curd, Cucumber rita, Lauki rita or any Rita. So let’s see how to make Chanadal Biriyani.
- 2 ½ cups Basmati rice (Chawal)
- ½ cup Split pea lentil (Chanadal)
- 1 Big Onion, chopped lengthwise (Pyaz)
- ½ cup Coconut milk (Nariyal ka doodh)
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves (Hara dhania)
- ½ tsp Garam masala
- 1 tsp Biriyani masala
- 1 tsp Cashew nuts (Kaju)
- 1 ½ tbsp Oil (Tel)
- Salt to taste
- 2 to 3 Cloves (Laung)
- 1 small piece Cinnamon (Dalchini)
- 1 Bay leaf (Tejpatta)
- 1 tbsp Green chillin (Hari mirchi)
Firstly, Rinse and soak in water chanadal for 5 to 7 hours. After 5 to 7 hours pressure cook it for 4 to 5 whistles and keep a side. Rinse and soaked Rice in water for 10 to 15 minutes. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, when oil is hot adds Cinnamon, Cloves, Bay leaf and green chillies. Now add onion and sauté till golden brown. Fry till raw smell leaves. Add salt, 1 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp biriyani masala, cashew nuts and mix well. Now add cooked chanadal, soaked rice, water and mix well. Then pressure cook for 2 to 3 whistles. Now cooked biriyani add coriander leaves and mix with a spoon for carefully. So prepare your chanadal biriyani. Serve in serving plate and eat with Curd, Rita or as you like.
