I share with you Jeera Rice recipe. Jeera rice is an Indian dish consisting of rice and cumin seeds. Rice tempered and flavoured with Jeera or Cumin. Most simple but the tasty rice recipes goes well with all types of Indian cyrries. Jeera rice is basically rice flavored with cumin and lightly spiced with whole garam masala. A variation on plain boiled rice, this Indian dish is made with cumin seeds. It will also delicious. Jeera rice with plain curd or just topped with some ghee is my kid favorite. Jeera rice also goes very well with some north Indian curries & dals like Gujrati kadhi, Besan gatta kadhi, Kadhi Pakora, Dum aloo. - 1½ cup Rice (Chawal)
- ¼ cup sliced Onions
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 2tbsp Cumin seeds (Jeera)
- 1 tsp Coriander leaves (Hara dhania)
- 1 tbsp Green chilli, chopped (Hari mirch)
- Salt to taste (Namak)
Firstly, wash and soak the Rice for 10 to 15 minutes in water. Drain and keep a side. Take a pressure cooker. Put Rice in a pressure cooker with 3 cups water and cook for 2 to 3 whistle. Cool the cooker and the Rice transfer to the bowl. Keep a side. Heat a pan, Put the Ghee in a pan. Add Cumin seeds. When the seeds crackle, Onion slices and fry on a medium flame till they are golden brown. Green chili, and saute. Add the boiled rice and mix well. Add salt, and coriander leaves into the Rice and mix well. Transfer to serving plate and eat with curry.
